Originally called the 'Village Inn',
The Queens is renown the world over for offering hospitality to travellers from
early Victorian times. Our traditional family run pub renamed The Queens in recognition
of Queen Victorias jubilee in 1887. The accommodation is adjacent at the 'Queens
Cottage' with 5 en-suite rooms with every comfort (please note that the rooms
are non smoking). We specialise in some local dishes to the area, and we can cater
for vegetarian and special diets. The Queens Hotel specialises in traditional
home cooked food, including home made steak pie, curries, chillies, venison casseroles
and vegetarian bakes. Traditional local Cumberland sausage is very popular especially
with tourists, local fish - trout caught by local fisherman from Lake Windermere
and locally caught Char (when is season) is always popular....
